Initial Impressions

The Telesin Carbon Fiber Selfie Stick is a very useful piece of kit for action camera users. It allows you to get really creative and capture a wide range of shots that you could not possibly get otherwise.

It extends to up to 3 meters long. You can use it at 6 different lengths ( 44cm/17.3", 100cm/39.4", 135cm/53.15", 190cm/74.8", 225cm/88.6", and the longest 300cm/118"). In the video below, you’ll see that I have it fully extend at 3 meters and I have a GoPro Max mounted on it.

The build quality is solid, and when extended it stays locked in place. It’s lightweight and strong. However, with the GoPro Max on it, it does bend and wobble slightly. Aside from that, I found that when retracting the selfie stick it jammed up a few times. I recommend not overtightening it and carefully pulling down each section.

I also have the Insta360 Go 2 action camera and because it is so small and lightweight, I think it will not bend or wobble as much as when I use the GoPro Max. But honestly, even with that small issue (bending and wobbling), I found that my footage was still usable (not perfect, but still usable.) With a bit more practice I think I’ll be able to capture some really awesome shots.
