Why I Created A New YouTube Channel

Despite months of pondering over starting a new YouTube Channel, I finally did it! To be perfectly honest with you, I am still not sure whether or not this was a good idea. The timing for this is definitely not the best due to this global pandemic that we are all going through, but the important thing is that I took the first step which is creating the channel.
Will this new channel take away from creating content on my main channel? I don’t know, but I figured I had nothing to lose at this point. My idea behind creating a new channel was to be able to niche down on my “main channel MARLONPTY”, which currently has over 5,300 subscribers and that has taken me for ever to grow, and I am still not 100% sure what the niche will be (I’m thinking a mix of photography with travel).
What I do know is that I can’t keep it a variety channel where one day I’ll post a review, then next I’ll post a travel vlog and then a soccer game vlog. I send my audience a mix message and that is probably why I haven’t been able to grow that channel the way I would have liked.
Growing a YouTube channel is extremely challenging, but having a new channel allows me to post videos that don’t go with the content of my main channel. So in that regard, it made perfect sense for me to do it.
My new channel, “Marlon Torres Vlogs”, is a vlogging channel. I plan on posting more personal type of content on this channel. Things that I enjoy vlogging, such as personal experiences of events, travel, food, cooking, lifestyle, health, home products etc. I feel like this gives me the freedom to create more, which is a good thing. I mean, it helps me get better at the entire video creation and editing process. So I think that’s a positive, however, during these difficult times that we’re going through, it’s gonna be difficult to create interesting vlogs, that have value, and entertain people. There is only so much I can do from my house at this time, but I’m going to try.
